Michael Friedman > Ghost Ship: This series was shot at the marina in Ventura, CA, about an hour before sunset. Instead of shooting the boats, masts and buildings directly, which I'd done many times, I pointed my camera at the water and shot just the reflections. The distortions are all caused by ripples in the water. During processing in Photoshop, I flipped the photographs vertically and tweaked them a bit, to get a more "painterly" look.
